Site Manager
THE ROLE:
As Site Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day to day co-ordination and management of site activities including Iconic Construction labor, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on your site. You will be based on site. You will be paramount in creating a healthy work culture while meeting deadlines and quality assurance measures.

NORMAL WORK HOURS:
Full time, average 44 hours per week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Site Manager is responsible for a range of manual, managerial and administrative responsibilities, which may include:
Upholding the company’s values of integrity, growth, teamwork and creativity.
Promote our reputation for safety, quality and provision of sound professional advice and fair dealing.
Team Leader on site.
Ensure that H&S procedures are followed at all times, including maintaining the Hazard Board, sign in and out, induction and safety fencing is compliant at all times.
Have a sound understanding and intricate knowledge of the plans, consent requirements and specifications of your allocated jobs prior to commencing construction. NZS:3604 working knowledge is a necessity.
Work closely with the Project Manager and Project Co-Ordinator to establish and adhere to schedules, adjust timelines and maximise resources.
Understand your build programme and deadlines, ensuring product is ordered and delivered to your site in a timely manner and secured from theft or weather.
Complete a site inspection with your Projects Manager prior to the pre-construction meeting addressing any hazards or issues. Be proactive in recognising any issues, address and discuss with your Projects Manager to find a proactive solution.
Understand the requirements for Council Inspections including documentation, the booking process, variations and amendments.
Carrying out the full range of carpentry disciplines in a tradesman like manner. These may include but are not limited to excavation, concrete, carpentry, roofing, gib fixing, precast panel work etc.
Utilising trade skills, knowledge and experience to complete the works adequately the first time to eliminate any rework requirements.
Lead and delegate training and mentoring of Iconic apprentices as required.
Instigate and monitor improvements that enhance the quality of work on site and optimise the labour and material resources required.
Have a good working relationship with all suppliers and subcontractors creating a respectful environment and ensuring the efficient daily running of them during the build process.
Ensure your site is maintained in a clean and tidy manner.
Other duties not unreasonably asked of the employee.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
The employee is required to maintain the following:
Clear understanding of how to use Aroflo
Hold a current LBP licence
Teaching and mentoring skills
A current, full, Class 1 New Zealand drivers licence
First Aid and CPR training
Excellent knowledge of current regulatory practices and industry best practice regarding Workplace Health and Safety in NZ
In depth knowledge of current regulatory standards for construction, particularly NZS:3604.
Understanding of consent requirements for council and ability to liaise with Council and other trades and how they impact the job
Able to read building specifications, plans and as-builds to a high level
Quantify and order site materials
Own tool kit as per the Schedule

Mentoring staff. Use issues that arise and learning opportunities for the situation/team member/sub-contractor. Provide positive feedback/reinforcement when work has been completed to a very high standard.
